During these holidays, alcohol abuse is very common, causing considerable damage to our body.
- the brain: too much alcohol inhibits the functions of the frontal region, thereby decreasing memory, concentration and self-control.
- the kidney: it removes more water than it takes in and causes the body to look for it in other organs.
- the heart: the effects of alcohol cause an increase in the cardiac activity and acceleration of the pulse.
- the stomach: alcohol increases acid-rich secretions and improves digestion, but when drunk excessively causes erosions in the mucosa of the stomach produced by ethanol, the main component of alcohol.
Effects of alcohol in the young people:
Drinking alcohol during adolescence has many risks. Some of them are direct because the consumption of alcoholic beverages is dangerous for health. Other risks in the case of adolescents are indirect and are linked to the behaviors derived from alcohol consumption.
Indirect Risks:
The consumption of alcohol causes important effects on the behavior, effects that can produce very serious problems.
- Unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases: Lack of self-control that causes alcohol can lead to sexual intercourse without adequate protection.
