The human genome...

"The human genome was the first of all vertebrates to be completely sequenced. As of 2012, thousands of human genomes have been completely sequenced, and many more have been mapped at lower levels of resolution. The resulting data are used worldwide in biomedical scienceanthropologyforensics and other branches of science."

What is the human genome for?

The most obvious and immediate utility for the human genome is to make it possible to know the cause of most diseases. Their knowledge allows to diagnose and cure many, so they predict the potential risks of occurrence (appearance) in some people

Some of the practical benefits of the human genome already exist today. There are now means to detect whether an individual is predisposed to certain types of cancer or an embryo inherits certain serious diseases. The main benefits of this research will only come when the function of each human gene is discovered.

In this iformation taken of  https://www.genome.gov/10001772/all-about-the--human-genome-project-hgp/, we can see a  simple definition of which is the human genome
